The 1910 Mauser pistol was the German army's first attempt at developing a pocket pistol for their soldiers. The 1910 model was slightly larger than later "pocket pistol" variants holding 9 rounds. Due to the rising popularity of small pocket pistols at the turn of the century, these pistols became quite prevalent both in Germany and abroad. Sacrificing stopping power for the ability to be concealed almost anywhere, these pistols were an incredibly intriguing look into both German small arms development in the pre-war era, and the evolving utility these small pistols held in society.
